What should I review in the Stripe payouts section before the end of the year?
Before the end of the year, we strongly recommend reviewing your Stripe account setup to ensure all information is accurate and up to date. This helps prevent delays or errors in your 1099-K form.
Please confirm the following:
- Business name and business type
- Your legal business name is correct.
- Your business type matches how your business is officially registered (LLC, corporation, sole proprietor, etc.).
- General business information
- Your business address and contact information are accurate and current.
- Personal information (Very important)
- The personal details entered reflect the business owner's information, not an employee or third-party.
Note: Providing accurate personal information is especially important if your business is registered as:
- Sole proprietor
- Single-member LLC
- Individual
For these business types, the IRS references personal tax information rather than business entity details when issuing the 1099-K. Ensuring this information is correct before the end of the year helps avoid processing issues, corrections, or reissued tax forms.
What if my information is incorrect on the 1099-K?
If your tax information is incorrect, update your details in your Stripe setup as soon as possible. For corrections or reissued forms, please contact our support team for assistance.
