Spread the love on Valentine's Day by offering your parents a night out and hosting an evening event that's safe and fun for their kids!
The year’s biggest date night will soon be upon us and one of the biggest issues that parents face is what to do with the kids when you want to just have a night to yourself…
Well here’s where you, as a martial arts studio can help!
Hosting a Valentine’s day, “Parents Night Out” event is a great opportunity to add some added value to your studio. You’re filling a need for the parents in your community, giving the kids an awesome and memorable night of fun, adding that additional revenue opportunity for your business, and opening yourself up to the possibility of some new leads and potential future students.
Creating the Event
To get started, set up your event in MyStudio. Visit Services and Products > Events > and click “Add Event” in the upper right hand corner.
This is where you’ll build out your event. Make it just a single event and, if you’d like, MyStudio even offers a Valentine’s Day event template for you for even faster event creation!
Just click "Choose Template" when adding a new event and select the Valentine’s Day event option:
Get everything set up just the way you like it and then publish your event:
Marketing the Event
Next, of course, comes promotion for your event. Promoting your sale is important too (otherwise, how will your students know it's available!!)
Copy the link for your event and send it over to your students via SMS text or in-app message to make sure they have easy access to it.
Check the “also send email” box to send out an additional email and cover all your bases.

Make sure you also make announcements to your students in person and get some flyers together so parents know about the event. You can also promote the event via your social media platforms to make sure that everyone is able to see it!
Here's a great tip to bring in some new potential customers: Tell your current students that if they bring a friend with them to the event, both them and their friend can attend for FREE!!
This is a great way to bring in some new leads since your current students will do all the work for you!
Additionally, your website is a great opportunity to market to brand new leads and potential customers that might not otherwise know about the event. Set up a promotional header and/or banner on your MyStudio hosted website that links directly to your sale and adds additional traffic!
To do this, visit Sales Channels > Business Website and click Banner and Header to turn on and edit your message:
Use the link option to search for your Valentine’s Day event and add a link directly to it.
Now, when anyone visits your website they’ll see your announcement right at the top and clicking it will redirect them to the event where they can register!

Hosting the Event
This step is crucial - you only have everyone with you for just a couple hours so you need to make the absolute most of your time here.
Depending on what time you’re starting and ending the event, you can offer dinner as an option - giving parents that additional time and one less worry while they’re out on the town!
Beyond time to eat, hosting awesome physical activities (like dodgeball or an obstacle course) is a great way to get all the kids excited and ensure they’re having an awesome time.

If you ensure that your event is safe AND fun then not only will you help keep your current students coming back for more but you’ll also make a great first impression on any new leads who visited you for the first time for this event.
The stronger an impression you make on these kids, in particular, the more likely their parents will be to register for a trial or membership with you following the event!

Following up with New Leads
After the event, you can download a CSV of your event attendees and then use that same CSV to manually import your new leads after the event for future follow-up.
These new leads will appear in your All Customers > Leads section and you can now start the communication process!

It's important to follow up with these hot leads regularly about your programs, deals, sales, classes, etc. especially while they’re still fresh off your event and thinking positively about you.
